About Art
Hi there, thanks for visiting my site!
A little bit about me:
I have always loved fantasy, futuristic science fiction, and the paranormal. I attribute this towards a humble beginning, which forced me as a child to use my creative imagination and abilities. Since I was age 5, I began showing interest in music as well and started to play the accordion. Later in life, I spread my talent towards other instruments (clarinet, piano, harp).
My artistic ability is mostly self-taught and I also studied art in college. I remember my Mother painting a poster with the Statue of Liberty and I took interest in drawing soon after. The first time I realized that my art was different from everyone else was in elementary school. We were given the assignment to draw our shoe and other students asked me to draw their pictures for them once they saw my realistic drawing.
I admit to most of my drawing practice taking place during math class. Through the school years, I designed the science billboard, won the science book cover award (dinosaur scene) and even made characters for the yearbook. Art was the greatest way that I could bond with my peers and I loved looking at their amazed expressions when I had them scribble a line on a piece of paper and I could draw anything from it.
I became rusty with my talent for several years, focusing on work and school and placing my passion on the back burner. I am creating on a daily basis now and it feels great to return to what I love and do best. During the more traumatic times of my life, art therapy was amazingly healing and expressive for me during recovery.
The mediums I feel most comfortable using are watercolor, colored pencil, and ink. I am currently creating most of my art using Apophysis for fractal art and Twisted Brush for digital art. I love the look of digital art and am finding it just as easy to sketch using my WACOM Bamboo drawing tablet.

Honorable Mention
My sister Erika is the one that inspired me to get back into my art. You can find her at Cretin Art (a website she runs with her husband Brian Doogan). This special piece was created for me and represents our connection as sisters.
